Tracey Goyette Cote focuses her practice primarily on divorce and family law. She also practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation and trust litigation.

Tracey began practicing law in 1998 after completing a highly competitive clerkship for Judge Frances Murnaghan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She entered practice as a tax attorney with the law firm of McGuire Woods LLP in Virginia, and then Ropes & Gray in Boston, where she worked with institutional clients to structure tax-efficient investments and complex business transactions.

Since 2005, Tracey’s primary area of emphasis has been divorce and family law. Tracey is exceptionally well-equipped to address the financial and tax issues that arise in high net worth divorces. She has worked with clients to achieve favorable resolutions in cases involving the identification of assets and income, including assets held in trust and other estate planning vehicles; determination of self-employment income; valuation and division of private Collaborative Law Alliance of New Hampshirecompanies, stock options, pensions and other retirement assets; and the determination of tax consequences associates with the division of property, alimony, child support and allocation of personal exemptions for dependents.

Tracey provides professional and compassionate representation with a goal of assisting each client to make fully informed decisions about the conduct and resolution of a case. Tracey works with each client to define a set of goals and to evaluate whether a favorable outcome can best be achieved through direct negotiation between attorneys, mediation, litigation, or a combination of the three. Tracey is trained in the practice of Collaborative Law and is a member of the Collaborative Law Alliance of New Hampshire.
